Chicken in bell pepper sauce on the fire pit grill
Ingredients:
- 5 pieces of chicken. Preferably with bone and skin, i.e. whole
pieces and not just breast. - 2 grilled bell peppers
- 4 tbsp oil
- 1 can of chopped tomatoes
- 2 cloves of garlic
- 1 tsp sweet paprika
- 0.5 tsp chili flakes
- 2 tsp sugar
- Salt and pepper
- 1 fresh bell pepper cut into strips
- 0.5 liter whipping cream or cooking cream
- 1 handful of fresh basil
- Feta cheese
Procedure:
Start by fire up your byJEMA fire pit grill. You want all the heat in the center as you'll need the grate to place the pot on.
Get all the ingredients out to make cooking easier for yourself.
Once the fire is well going, you need to burn your bell peppers. They go straight into the flames. The skin should be completely black and the flesh tender.
When they're done, let them cool briefly and peel off all the skin.
Finely chop your soft and grilled bell peppers. Then take a pan that can withstand being on the fire.
Heat up the oil. Sauté the chicken pieces on all sides on high heat.
Then you add your bell peppers, chopped tomatoes, garlic (chopped finely), spices, salt and pepper.
Let it heat through and sauté lightly.
Then add the cream / cooking cream.
Put a lid on the pot and let it cook until the chicken is tender.
Season with extra spices or salt/pepper if needed.
The aromas can make anyone's mouth water.
Crumble feta and add chopped fresh basil just before enjoying your meal.
You can serve with rice, couscous or flatbread.
Enjoy!
